Not a problem with me!Ducklings aren't born, they hatch.
Sorry, pet peeve of mine.![]()
I have American blues and buffs. No light.
Mine lay about 2x a week during the summer and once every week or so in winter. They only lay 35-40 eggs a yr.
Keep reading, I explained why I thought it was a hybrid and Inwas confused.. I think twi duck people wanting answers. And I am talking about a hybrid duck as she allows them all to congregate together. They are all mallards so they will mix.
I was waiting for your response!! Phew, you’re giving me hope that maybe he’s a pekin!! But either way very happy that he hatched without a problem!Do you add light for them? Or have a production breed like Chinese? I've never had my geese lay past June. It doesn't really matter since the OP's baby is definitely not a gosling, I'm just curious.
I know muscovies live feral in Florida and they're probably present in most ponds, but the OP has said that there are no muscovies in her friend's pond where the egg came from. Also, the temperature would have to be pretty high for a muscovy to hatch on day 29, and the OP's temperature was actually low. Even hybrids take 32 days to hatch when incubated at the proper temperature.
I'm not saying it's impossible that it's a hybrid, just that it's very unlikely given the information we have. Well, time will tell![]()
