I am totally new to chickens so am unsure about what I have.

They are all 7-8 weeks old. Purchased at tsc on 4/30 as itty bitty babies.
2 Barred rocks (???) “A” & “B”
2 Rhode Island Reds “C” & “D”
2 Lavender Orpingtons “E” & “F”
1 Buff rock (?) “G”

Based on what I’ve read here on BYC, I think my buff rock (if that breed is correct) is a pullet. And I think one if not both of my black & white birds (barred rocks?) are cockerels. I’m more confident about “B” being male, but think “A” possibly is also? The Lav Orps and RI Reds I keep waffling about (really hoping they aren’t ALL cockerels— I may just be in denial). I hope my photos are good enough. Let me know if I need to get clearer images of anything.

My main questions:
1) How many likely/definite cockerels do I have?
2) What breed(s) are my black & white chicks?
3) Is “G” a buff rock?

So grateful for all the knowledge shared here. Thank you so much for any help you can provide!

3) Is “G” a buff rock?
No, G is not a Buff Rock because it is not buff.
Buff is a golden-brown shade, but that chicken is white.

Most chickens have a color/pattern and a breed name: so Rocks (breed) can come in Barred (pattern) or Buff or White (colors.)

But I agree with the others that bird G, who is white, is probably a White Leghorn (looks a little different than a White Rock would.)

:celebrate:yesss:
Y’all have made my day/week/year!!! What a relief that they are probably NOT all cockerels after all!!

Thank you so much for the info on my *white* girl. She was a little yellow puffball sold as a buff rock so while my husband and sons clearly see her as white, I continued to think of her as yellow/off-white. I’m happy with her no matter what breed—she is lovely and sweet-tempered!
