This is a good start and hopefully he will get stronger. Please *DO NOT* move him to the brooder until he is walking around the incubator.

I'll second this! If you move him to the brooder before he is moving around on his own, you may place him somewhere that is too warm or too cool and he can't get to a comfortable temperature and could die. The incubator is already a stable temperature.

He's totally dry in the picture, I think some liquid dried around him and so he isn't fluffing up.

He's moving a lot, did the whole round of the incubator but his head is still being dragged, I think he might have hurt his neck while being stuck in the egg

He looks better. Just make sure he's warm enough.

In the mean time, here's a picture of the 2 first ducklings, born yesterday. Both born late but extremely healthy and big. We had to help one out a bit after he zipped all the way around but was glued to the shell

Of course! Having just gone through a tough situation with one of my ducklings, I know how helpless it can feel ... Having everyone on BYC to offer advice and support is such a comfort.

Definitely, so happy for this community we don't have something like this in Europe in English haha
