@BantyChooks You'll love this. When the Chicago Manual of Style thought about dumping the en dash, my extremely well paid chief editor spent an hour in my office complaining. After I intently listened to his argument, I told him to write a letter on company letter head and send it in to them. And he did. So we were one of the fortune 500 companies that fought to save the en dash. My VP wasn't particularly happy with me—but he got over it.
Taking a break from work and checked the news...should not have done that. CA wildfire situation looks out of control! Hubby was fretting over the Sonoma race track last night...I said heck with that! The wineries are devastated!!! But my thoughts are with all of those losing their houses, etc. :hit
And then I see....Ophelia..... :th

But I think that's going away from the U.S.????
Oh my :hit

Ron! I'm so sorry!
Thanks!

Woodland where I live should be fine. The problem is that we are under a red flag warning. Conditions are bad for fires anyway and then add in 30mph winds that blow embers a long distance and this type of disaster happens

Thanks!

The fires are over a short mt. range from me. We had ash coming down today in town and there is smoke.
11 dead by last count and 100,000 thousand acres burnt. The winds pick back up tomorrow and Thursday--I hope there is more containment by then

Stay safe you're in our thoughts and prayers :fl

Thanks All!
