Mice dont carry rabies....rodents in general including possums. At least no document cases....

Don't get nervous. Just let a professional know about it. Mice carry various forms
of streptacoccus and also viral infections. We had to be very careful around mice
droppings.

You don't want to play around with this. It wouldn't hurt to call the ER and ask
them what you should do.

i think the mouse is gone now,... i know which chicken ate it... but i think its gone now. i think i m gonna go into the doctors tomorrow and see what he says.

Actually, opossums aren't rodents and don't carry rabies because their body temp is too low (sorry, just had to throw that in). Mice, from what I understand, are just too small to survive getting rabies.

And, last but not least, I am pretty sure tetanus is a danger with ANY puncture wound, isn't it? Since it is causes by a virus that can live on most surfaces?​

I have had my hamster bite me and I freaked out because
it seemed like it was to the bone (It hurt like a mother trucker)
and it bled for a half an hour maybe more, it was a little purple
and I could feel my bone vibrating with pain. I just kept pressure on
it and wraped it with a band-aid and neosporin and healed up
and went away.


I understand this is not completely the same but I would flush it
out with alchole and if any thing further happens any signs, I
would consult a doctor.
