In demand chicken breeds

I'm just curious what chicken breeds people are most interested in for their backyard flock.

My flock in MA includes Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, a Easter Egger, and a Rhode Island Red. I've had New Hampshire Reds as well.

I would have to say Cream Legbars are my favorite. Ours lays approx 5 large light blue eggs a week. Chocolate, our CL is the most friendly and sweet chicken in our flock. She even once was so cozy on my son she decided to just lay an egg in his lap! I would totally recommend this breed.

We have Wyandottes, two silvers and a golden. Our golden is a little pain and pecks at us a lot. But the silvers are just as docile and sweet as can be. They’re good layers, too.

My favorites in my flock are my lavender Orpington, my black copper Marans and my little Easter Eggers

Well, I also like my silver gray Dorkings, they photograph really well, LOL! They kind of demand attention though. I also like my Australorp and my buff Orpington is pretty cool but super crazy! My GLWyandotte is also pretty cool because she is really quiet and it sounds like she always says cook cook, LOL!

I've ordered Barnevelder (This is a Dutch breed. I've got some Dutch heritage, plus my grandparents last name was VELD, so of course, this breed seemed a rather obvious choice!), Cream Legbar and a Lavender Orpington chicks - hoping they survive the journey - they should be here on Tuesday/Wednesday!

I have a few blue egg layers, now as the flock changes, now I want more brown layers! I am getting BLRW, Dark Bantam Brahma, Cuckoo Marans, good old Barred Rock and Light Sussex. Also would love an Austra White!

Why don’t you order one? Dorkings usually go broody so maybe you could get a few for one of your broodies?
