Incubating and discouraged

Pics
Could be hours, could be a day; gotta absorb that yolk. They'll come out in their own good time (hopefully soon!).
This makes me so happy, even if the hatch doesn’t turn out great. I had to cull an extra roo today so I was feeling pretty down. He was harassing the girls pretty hard and getting beat up by my resident roo in the process. Everyone was missing neck feathers except “Roopert” lol

With my Hovabator they all pipped (almost all) on day 16, by the night of the 17th day I had just gotten home from a big event, checked incubator nothing - not even movement so I thought Day 18 then.

But about an hour later (I was sooo tired) I heard peeping and I thought wow my other babies are loud tonight...

I work in a home office also where all my quail things happen lol so there is brooders and incubators all over the office...

Then I realized the peeping was coming from INSIDE the incubator and I jumped up to find like 6-8 babies had hatched and I didn’t even notice LOL within another hour almost half had hatched (I had 41 in there) by 2am all but 5 were out. I had to move them to the brooder... the next day 2 more came and the other 3 had passed already. I had stayed up all night (I do that when there is hatching) and even slept on the office floor! LOL

It was a long night... good Hatch though I’ll never forget that one!
