Incubating and discouraged

If she's crawling around I would give her a chance. They usually don't do much the first few days except stagger around like little drunks while they figure out how their legs work. She should perk up in a day or so. Were you able to get some vitamins?

I wouldn’t cull her I would just wait it out unless it’s obvious she’s not gonna eat or drink and just die, she may just be really weak, they can go quite some time without much food because of the yolk. I’ve heard some people will leave them in the incubator for about 3 days. I’ve only left one for 26 hours, couldn’t stand to look at its lonely face anymore waiting on its friends to hatch so I took it out and cuddled it lol the rest were fine later but they took 2 more days!
She’s much worse today :(
Tried to dip her beak and she’s not having it, just feels like a little sack of bones.

I have all the supplies together for the new incubator. I just need to figure out how to cut holes for the light and cut the window hole with my limited tools lol. Styrofoam would have been easier but I want this thing rock solid.

Hi friends,
I’m on my second incubation attempt ever. First time using my improved diy incubator after learning a lot from my not great first incubation attempt.
I’ve got 48 coturnix eggs that I picked up from a neighbor that says they typically get a 75% hatch rate.

It’s day 10 and I candled all the eggs tonight thinking it would make life simpler on lockdown day if I pulled out anything that looked like it hadn’t been fertile.
Well things aren’t looking good. I want to say there are 3 eggs that look dark enough that there’s a chick in there. Everything else looks either really clear, or like you can see a yolk floating around inside.
I pulled the super clear ones out (there were 5) and I left the probably not viable ones in there because nothing smelled off and I’m hoping I just suck at candling and I’m wrong.
Temp has been set to 99.5 and swings about .5 degrees either way. Temp has been verified by 2 other accurate thermometers.
40% humidity give or take 5%.
Forced air, and automatic egg turner is set up.
I’m just really bummed, I thought I had this incubator set up perfect.
I reeeeeally hope your eggs are good and you "just suck at candling" because that can get better. I'm watching your situation closely because you are kind of where I am in all this, though a little further along. I haven't tried candling yet, and I have no idea what to look for so I know I definitely suck at it right now. I hope the rest of your eggies are fine :fl
