All totally normal! Yeah! Even your paranoia is normal. :D

I use a stethoscope too, and even a magnifying glass. Shine your light from every angle possible, you may see it looks bigger from a different angle.

Also, if it broke the shell, then the membrane is also pierced. It can appear almost closed, but it's open.

Hold tight, you are going to see chickies soon!

Another update. So the egg that most recently pipped has made a very large hole as it is continuing to peck inside. The first egg that was pipping is still not making a larger hole. I find that weird that the second egg started late, is ahead of the first pipper. The first pipper is peeping (not continuously, but normally chirping) so I know it's alive. I just hope it starts to peck soon like the other one.

I understand it seems odd, but my second pippers always seem to hatch first. I have no idea why, but we've discussed it on other threads and it seems to be fairly common. I don't know of any scientific reason why though.
But as long as the first one is still making noise and moving, and still under the guidelines, I tend to think they are ok.

So it's 14 hours and one of my chicks had made no progress from it's first pip but is still alive. My humidity is at 65 - 70 should I increase it. Maybe the shell is too hard.

That's fine. I wouldn't be worried until it's been 24 hours with no progress :)

JPEG_20171208_204444_607944229.jpg this is how it looks like after 18 hours. There is no pipping, and has been quiet for a couple hours.
