Solo goslings are very hard to care for, since they are expecting to be physically attached to you 24/7 and suffer greatly when alone. I would use a rectangle milk crate for a movable pen, so that you can carry baby around and set next to you. That will help.
If you can afford it, Metzer sells pekin duck babies year round and you could have a pair of day old babies by next Wednesday to brood with your gosling. I had a solo gosling hatch on Christmas day 2 years ago, and got a pair of ducklings 2 days later. Both ducklings survived trip and my gosling loved his duckling buddies.
