Yes rocks to hold it down. I bet he's a handful now. Just don't play with his bill with your hands. it's get then into the habit of biting. They are so precious when babies and so smart too. Keep up with the pics we love those pics.

great water bowl for water fowl.

I made my own! The hole is a bit big on mine but I didn’t want his giant head to get stuck lol. And it’s coincidentally also ricotta cheese

Don’t mind the clutter in the back but this picture is too cute! Baby #2 is on day 22 ish and the air cell is WAY too large...I’m going to up the humidity as I did a dry hatch but it’s a bit much. Still moving and I’m hoping for the best!

Maybe @WVduckchick or @Pyxis can help with hatch. Sure hope the little one makes it out okay.

Also just something about things laying on the floor, be careful they will pick up and try to eat anything which can cause serious problems.

I try to keep him in my lap because when he was a few days old he’d run off and eat carpet lint and I’d have to get it out. But don’t worry, ever since then I watch him like a hawk. Also i increased the humidity to 50%. I’ll post a picture and keep adding water. Every channel is full. He was drinking water and then caught me heh

I just found out the baby is closer to hatching then I thought. That’s probably why I saw the membrane dip down significantly. I mistakes the date for 29 instead of 24 so he’s actually 26 days old, almost 27. There’s starting to be an internal pip and there’s a shadow of the beak. I’m so excited and I’ll update but it still seems like too much weight loss. I took a picture of the egg without light just to show the size. It’s also rocking and rolling! With exams coming up I’ve been so preoccupied and didn’t even notice!!! I’ll definitely update.

He’s eating pine shavings now! Like fully ingesting. But he’s also eating his food so I’m confused. I’m so worried

Put some old towels down over the shavings. Or take oput the shaving for now and just use old towels. You can shake them out wash and reuse then. He has food around the clock right?

I had a towel down and he knows the difference between the shavings and the food but he likes to eat them for some reason. I’ll just use towels now. Food is always here and I know he eats it because when I wake up it’s empty and I refill it.
