It's usually niacin or vitamin E. Too much calcium causes liver trouble in ducks. If she is laying good eggs her calcium should be fine. I've never heard of calcium deficiency causing this. And the niacin ducks should have is 100 to 150 mg a day... feed doesn't usually have much but once they forage they get what they need normally. So after they're grown it's not usually an issue but is for ducklings as they can't forage yet. It does happen in adult ducks just not alot unless they've been unable to get needed vegetation or bugs that are high in niacin. Which if your girl has trouble seeing she just may not be finding all she needs.
Thank you. I don't believe this is the problem. She swims without any problem and uses her feet well as she swims and sticks her head down under water searching for food. The water in her pond is crystal clean and clear of any dead stuff.
I think you are right. She stays in the pond most of the day and does come out to eat but doesn't forage like the other do.
