she has too much tail .long /high and open .
Daisy is 100 miles better and correct than this one .
this pullet has a better comb .

My Marans are now 19 almost 20 weeks old. Daisy is the easiest to take pictures of. Holly tends to run away if she see's the camera and Drummy thinks its a chicken eating monster and has to be on full alert.

this pullets has a lot great marans traits. priceless copper quality ,need more that all ,the comb is her weakest point .

big tall boy . he has 3 major faults .
1} Wrong body type ,he is a triangular type .the SOP call for a long flat . rectangular type .
2} Spilt hackle marking { Hallo } his hackle has too much gold .
3} good shape tail but High .

I will not breed from him .

Daisy is good type pullet .
correct long flat back .
correct head ,eyes ,wattles , comb is twisted at front . should be straight .
nice tail @ good angle .
love her wide shoulder
correct plumage type .free from any fluff .

I can not see her feet .
if you find a compatible cockerel for her ,you end up with a good foundation . you need a good cockerel .

hope she lay nice eggs for you . I really like her ,

Thank you. Daisy is mine and the neighborhood children's favorite chicken. She loves being held and cuddled. I'll have to look for pics of her feet, she is my clean legged girl. I'm hoping her first egg is not too far off. She's showing signs she's getting close, inspects and sits on the nest a few times daily, started squatting for me the other day when i was stroking her back and her face is slowly getting redder. When it is cloudy her comb looks really red but in direct sunlight it looks a little pinker. I know i need a better cockerel but marans are a little hard to find in my area, and with covid-19 and me being a type 1 diabetic i've been reluctant to travel. I have not left the house since march due to dr's orders.
