Intruder

Having a coop kitty is a very good idea but once OP signs on to do this, her obligations go beyond just providing kibble every other day or so, and vets cost money. In a couple of months, if this kitten is female, a feline Prince Charming is going to come calling (or more than one!), and then OP's problems are going to start growing exponentially - unless she has a couple hundred dollars or so to invest in getting Miss Intruder's shots, and getting her wormed, treated for fleas and lice and ticks and finally, spayed before that happens! She has already said she does not have a cat precisely because she can not afford all this. So her question is, how does she get Miss N Truder to vacate the premises ASAP? Not, oh, isn't she adorable and don't you really need a kitty? 😉
Since it's feral, OP might find a program or a vet school that'll spay/neuter it for free.

There are ways to get a cat spayed cheap and no, you don't have to get every animal that roams around your property $500 worth of vet care. Rats and mice carry worse diseases than cats and they can effect humans so I am arguing that it might be a good investment to take the cat to a spay/neuter clinic or the humane society and just let it keep on keepin on. If you're going to catch it in a love trap and try to relocate it it might come back and if you give it to the humane society they will give it vet care and spay it and you can probably adopt it for a fraction of the cost of a spay. So IMO its worth looking at both sides.

That would be helpful. There are way too few of those programs, and they seem to exist mostly in inner cities. I wonder if her local extension agent could help?

Live not love. I don't know what a love trap is but I am definitely not advocating one 😂

I am currently trying to feed and get an inch closer technique. She did stay at the pop door while I collected eggs( usually runs out to the far side of the run or middle of the pullets).
Where I am only animal control will attempt to remove her but they put ferals down. She is so young I am trying to give her a chance to live. I call her female pronouns but haven't a clue to which she is.
