After all this now I'm interested in what's going to happen tomorrow. Either it'll go smoothly or it won't. I can see both sides. On the one hand, she was trying to be helpful by giving a heads up, and he seemed to be mean about it. On the other hand, maybe they're short handed and he's trying to be helpful by saying that it's not a good time.
Either way, one day early is usually too late to call in extra people to work that shift, so he might not be able to do anything about it. At my work, yeah, you can try to pull in extra people that late, but there are no guarantees.
I'm about 99.99% sure that once you walk in (especially with minorities) you will NOT be turned away, but you may have a disgruntled manager, lol.
On a side note, at my work we can refuse service to anyone. We of course, have only done this in certain extreme cases. (cashier getting screamed at, etc) I don't think the threat of a long line would qualify, don't get me wrong! I'm just saying that we can.
Bluie- I'm of course on your side that it was rude to say that he didn't want your students to come in. There are always going to be those ding-bat people. We have one at my work (who is a manager) and although corporate has gotten many complaints about her, nothing ever has, or will ever be done about it. And I know you may want to, but from my experience it will not be helpful to talk about how much you will spend there. I know, I know. But talk about ethics and customer service. That will get them WAY more!
Good luck!
