I pm looking to build a dirt bath for my chickens and wondering if top soil is okay to use. It says it does not contain fertilizer. What it does contain is I believe is soil/sand/mulch/gravel mixture.

Here's an image of it.

It's dirt. The chickens don't care and it won't hurt them. My chickens dust bathe in whatever dirt they choose on over 2 acres. Much of it is red clay with whatever Mother Nature added to it----sticks, twigs, leaves, rocks, bugs, dog crap, chicken crap, etc.

So you don't think it has chemicals in it?

Do you have clay soil? Just loosen up some dirt to where it will dry out and they will probably have fun with it.
