Yeah, me too. I always think of diaper rash. Using ointment prevents diaper rash because it protects the skin from the moisture.

I use a product called “Musher’s Secret” to protect my chooks combs, wattles and feet but whenever the temperature dips low enough…I don’t put anything on them because it just doesn’t work when it’s that cold and has the potential to make frostbite damage worse in some cases.

I use this only ducks' feet in the summer.

I can see that. I've never had to deal with that level of cold. I have had good results when it drops to the teens, but that's as cold as it gets here. I could be totally wrong.
