IT HAPPENED!!!

Of course after I post they still kept checking out the coop. Well Annabelle and Rosie went over and we're peeking in the boxes. They just like to make me a liar since I said they don't go near the boxes. Lol ( well Annabelle still goes in them to sleep. I think she can't figure out how to get up to the roost even though the poop boards are only 18" high). Marshmallow barely goes in the coop still yet I would guess she is the closest.

Oh my gosh I bet they will lay so soon! My vote is... by this time next week.

I think you can feel if they are egg bound.

I'm scared to try to feel because I don't know how and I don't want to cause it to break inside her or something... she's still eating and drinking and roosting fine and stuff... I'll just keep an eye on her I guess and keep being paranoid until she lays again LOL (Unless she gets bad symptoms or something... idk...)

I hope you are right. at least for Marshmallow, possibly Annabelle. I don't think Rosie will be by then even though she spends lots of time in the coop. Her comb is still VERY pale and she barely has any wattles still.

makes sense since I would be the same way. If she is still eating, drinking and roosting normal I would guess she is fine. thought I read that they walk around squatting a lot like they are trying to push it out...... But I haven't done a ton of research on that yet just saw things here and there.

Maybe I should look into that more just to see what to keep an eye out for

With 6 girls laying now I'm starting to get a cool rainbow variety going on! I was just admiring them... I had to take Nuggets last egg for this pic but the other 5 were laid today! Zoingo had such a heavy bloom on her egg today it almost looks purple in person haha. Proud of my fluffbabies!

That is so cool! I was thinking it looked pinky purple in the picture. How cool!! I am hoping the rest of mine lay different shades of light brown.

No eggciting news today from me! I thought instead, I will share this pic of Arya from this afternoon. She is the 9 week old Crested Cream Legbar baby. Long time til laying hahaha... but she is soooo sweet. She follows me around with the other young ones and makes tiny cute trilling sounds at me until I scoop her up

She is beautiful!!! And how sweet! Will she lay really blue eggs? I may have to add one to my list. She is too cute.
