Hey, @junior67 did the other egg ever hatch?
No. 😢. I had to work that day and wasn't sure when it internally pipped, read that you should wait 24 hrs. I figured when I got home from work I would do a safety hole. Got home around 230 and didn't hear any peeping from the egg. Put a safety hole and didn't notice movement. Opened it up a bit more and could tell it was DIS. So I did an eggtopsy. All veins absorbed and yolk absorbed. It just never managed to get through the shell.

So have the 2 chicks that I also figured out aren't Cochins like they should have been.

I wish it would have hatched im sorry. That means they were sold wrong correct. Do you know what breed they are?

Have any of your other chickens started doing the egg song at 13 weeks of age. My orpington, austrolorp and cinnamon queen have all done it now.

Whew! At 13 weeks? That's pretty early... none of mine did egg songs until after they laid.

They did do alarm calling prior to egg laying, which sounds very similar, but they had a big scare when a tree fell on the coop roof.
