My nine Silkie eggs are on DAY 14 and all look good. Will set them on the nonstick shelf liner and stop turning tomorrow as I will be gone for a few days.

The last two eggs are very top heavy, huge air sacks. No sign of internal pipe, no movement, no cheeps. The third is a smaller air sack, no top heavy, no sign of internal pip either. Day 23, when do you call quits?

Just realised the black chick will be able to tell us who lays the speckled eggs! The mom is either a Sapphire Splash or Sapphire Gem, dad is black. So if it’s a black chick, the Gems are the mom correct?

I almost thought about ordering to have chicks the same day, but we are going to have 108 next week, not a good time.

It is fun to have ordered chicks with a hatch! My new chicks actually shipped the week after my hatch, and I moved everyone in together with no issues. I put the incubator babies in a small brooder, and when the new chicks arrived I let them into the big brooder to assess/make sure everyone was eating & drinking, and then added the slightly older hatched chicks in so everyone was in the big brooder, and no picking issues at all!

Just mentioning it in case you want to place an order for the following week…if temps are better…

I know nothing about frizzles, but it sure looks like it to me!

The BCM and green egg were dead, we started a safety hole and continued after no movement. Possibly cheeps from the last blue egg unless we were hoping so hard it messed with our minds… Will add a safety hole after a cake break

When was the last chick to hatch? Those don’t looks to have internally pipped or dipped down enough to indicate they’re about to. However, it’s difficult to tell from this angle. If you are trying to determine viability but believe they’re already DIS make a hole into the air sac. Larger than the normal safety hole. Then you’ll be able to see any movement well. If it’s still viable put a piece of tape, any type, over the hole to maintain humidity. No harm done. If I don’t see movement I try putting something down, usually the eraser end of a pencil, to gently touch the chick. If they don’t respond or are already stiff (usually the case for me this late) then you have your answer.
