It was the first time hatching from our own flock, so a bit of extra disappointment. There’s a few possibilities I’d like to test out:Remind me where you sourced these eggs from? Some hatches are rougher than others.
Congrats on the 2 chicks! They are adorable.
1. I grabbed the wrong eggs

2. Poor quality roo. Apparently he’s only been fed scratch until he moved in with us. He’s now on an All Flock
3. Too early for him to have serviced all the ladies in the flock
4. Too long since last mating. He had an accident and stayed in his old coop for a few weeks to recover, so it was about 2 weeks since he’d been with the hennies when I’d gathered eggs
I’m not as much worried about the clear eggs as so many quitters. We did have a few hours or so when the incubator got unplugged. Hoping that’s the main issue
