I only have 4 pips so far. Still just 1 lavender and 3 Marans. I really hope more lavenders start showing signs of life. I'd be so sad if I only got 1....

1 is better than none...my last hatch was worse I've ever had and got none of the ones I really wanted!

But I just sold 4 of em today so I'll be doing this again soon as we get back from our 30th anniversary trip! Whoohooo! Can't believe DH said I could...again!

@Gammas Bearded Babies Guess you better go find the August hatchalong thread too then, lol! If there is one. Or, make one! I'll join you, even though I probably won't be hatching anything unless I decide to test fertility in my barred rocks. Hmm...now you got me thinking....uh oh! Lol

I'm gonna go calculate right now! It may end up being closer to September hatch!
But I'm sure we'll see each other round lol!

Edited to reflect approximate hatch date of September 15! I know I know....don't count ya chicks before they even get started lolol!

6 pips! I went to do dishes for 20 mins, came back and 2 more Lavenders had pipped! Yay!!! Waiting on 7 more.

Good for you! I will check my incubator eggs one more time before going to bed, I did check my tracking and my ordered chicks are 1/2 a state away (this state) and will be here in the AM.

Well, my 2nd darkest Marans egg just pipped at the wrong end Hope it does ok, but I'm prepared to assist if necessary. Dang it. I really want the babies from the darker eggs to make it. Lost my darkest egg at lockdown. It had made it sometime between Days 10-14 and was fully developed, just died for some reason. I was pretty bummed about that...would've been a pretty black baby. Fingers crossed this baby makes it. There's 3 other real nice eggs I hope make it too. But hey, another pip!

I had this purple egg from a maran and it didn't hatch, this was from last winter though...and never got another purple.

I checked my incubator eggs and have my first pip, I will check again with pics in the AM...

My daughter is pet sitting for a neighbor. She gets to keep the eggs for the duration. I can’t believe the colors in their egg basket! The light brown egg is actually pink in person. Lucky neighbors!

I had been really hot here, but my shipped chicks landed in the evening. and are going to ship at night to my PO, and it was in the 80's at the time in OH so not really too hot.
