Jumbo Coturnix vs. regular Coturnix?

When I bought my first quail eggs it was a variety of colors, some where jumbo and some where not. Now I am wondering what is the best way to tell the difference.

Size. Once hatched at about 5 weeks you’ll notice the bigger ones from the regular size ones.

I housed my jumbo hen with regulars. Mostly because she was my only one, but she was probably the most peaceful bird out of the whole savage pack

Good. I was thinking of hatching some eggs, and it just didn’t occur to me to figure out why half the eggs were labeled “jumbo quail” on the website. Thanks for the info, I will probably update on the current hatch (random mixed chickens), then once they are hatched, I will order my quail eggs.

The size isn’t that much of a difference. It’s noticiable but not like like a bantam silkie vs a Jersey giant.
