This is my experience too with ones genetic/hatch leg issues too. Injuries on the other hand often heal with no problems!
That’s a real good distinction. We have had a few birds with feet/leg issues that did fine. One rooster we named “Peggy” because he walked with a limp like a peg legged pirate. However those birds were all older when injured. Very promising info though! I hope the little guy is able to make a full recovery.

That sounds like a nice trio. I’ll keep 24 weeks in mind. It’s totally worth the effort of growing your own.
I agree. We raise chickens & quail for eggs & meat + are trying to grow as much of our food as possible. We are new to turkeys but we’re hoping to have a m/f pair to keep for a sustainable source of turkey or even 2 hens & 1 male. If we end up with 2 males then 1 will be Thanksgiving or Christmas. I like knowing that my food was treated with care & respect + not filled full of synthetic crap, antibiotics etc. I free-range my chickens & my quail are in a ground pen. We try to raise them as naturally as possible & make sure they all get healthy fresh grown garden treats. Raising our own food is definitely a rewarding & humbling experience.

You had no way of knowing the other hen would attack them. My broody was raising her chicks with the flock & no one dared mess with her. It’s different with every hen though. If one of my lower girls went broody it may be different. Bringing them inside was probably a good thing with this heat 🥵
As far as the chick, if there aren’t any open wounds I would give her vitamin water & time to see if it heals up. She may be running around later
I’m doing just that and I’m happy to report… the chick is standing on its own today!! Still hesitating on that injured leg but it is using it some, it really wants to start moving and its hobbling around more 🤩 go little one!!

That’s wonderful news! Hopefully it’s over the hump and will get stronger every day.

It's day 20 here and I have 3 pips on my last Batch!
They are all wrong end!?! What is going on here!? 😭
In all the years of hatching I've never had wrong end now this!
I agree with the above comment. Very strange to get three in the same hatch from your own or local eggs. More common in shipped eggs. I have a couple guides, from various universities, That I’ve used in the past that might help with figuring things out. I can’t recall if they mention wrong end pipping but it’s a starting point.
