Just Curious: What is your favorite breed of chicken and why?

But I don’t want to choooooose. I forced myself to make a decision, and I put brahmas, because I adore big fluffy chickens with pants.

I like the dark eggs from my various Marans but that was not an option, so I picked my second favorite which are Brahmas.

I think I would've picked Dominique if that were an option, because my Dominique is so big, so fluffy, so satisfying to hold....but I can't bring myself to vote for one breed over another.

Easy to sex early
Mature early
Eat less feed
Flighty (which for me equals staying alive while free ranging)
Lay large eggs and lots of them

American Game. Smart, exceptional foragers, calm, can be flighty when they need to be, strong flyers, can raise their own young, can serve as broodies for less capable breeds, make exceptional pets, disease resistant, handle broad temperature range, long lived.

Leghorn, my girl loves food, her brother was for sure a cockerl at about 4 weeks, mabey earlier. She keeps our flock (including him, sorry Tino) in line. I also really like Cochins, but I don't have any, my Orphingtons are sweet as can be, and my other favorite, the Brahma I just got 2 days ago, so Leghorn has to be my favorite right now.
