Well, that would explain why it didn't look like a Silkie, anyway. However, I think it was very respectful of the woman to admit to you that she had made a mistake in breed assignment when she sold her to you. Did she offer to give you a Silkie instead if you wanted one?

Cochins are really lovely chickens, I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
