Yeah, I haven’t touched it. I just did at first cause it kept fluctuating and I was paranoid. So I turned it up and/or down to try to get it right. Should have figured it out beforehand.

Though tbh I’m thinking now even that was it malfunctioning.

I finally figured out 97.5 is what it has to be set on to get it within the right range. Otherwise it got way too hot. Still does a bit but not as bad.

I really think I got a bad one :hit
No this is normal for an incubator This is why I tell you that you cannot trust the thermometers on an incubator none of them are exact.
This is why it is important to have a calibrated thermometer regardless of the incubator you have.

And I’ve been trying to remember to rotate the eggs ha

But have been turning frequently at least so I guess that’s good
This is not good if you're leaving the incubator lid off.
The dropping of the temperature and raising it back up so many times is bad.

I haven't finished reading this novel yet but yes it is horrible to leave the lid off.

And what is this "I think the temperature was 100."

You can't think you need to make sure the temperature is good.

Yeaaaaahhhhh sorry for all the novels!! :lau :hide

And the I think is just because it’s kind of hard to read and see the lines and stuff. Or like exactly where the red stuff is. But I’m pretty positive it was 100.

Ohhh okay. That’s good then. But still. I think I might test it after this batch before I do anything hah

I’ve been better about it today since you guys said that. Just cracking it just enough to reach my arm in there without fully opening it hah

Another temp spike!!!

Went to check the incubator and turn the eggs again around noon and noticed it spiked again!!!

Two thermometers were reading 101 (I know it says 100.9, it went down slightly right before the pic) and the spot check was reading 100.3! I think the calibrated one was still reading 98 or maybe 99 but it’s still on the cool side of the incubator. I moved it to the hot side, lower corner this time, and I’m about to go home so we’ll see what it’s reading now.

But this is ridiculous!!!

Obviously I don’t think it’s actually 101 but even 100 or 100.5.... that’s a half to one whole degree difference!! Which doesn’t sound like a lot but I’m sure it is in incubating right!?

The room isn’t even hot or anything. Actually, I’d say it’s pretty cool in there right now and all the curtains are closed!! So I don’t think it should be spiking! Right!?

I think I will definitely have to call or email or something. This thing definitely seems a tad bit wonky!!!

:barnie

Idk if you can read these, couldn’t get good pics, but see how messed up these numbers are!?

Ok I am sure you all might not like this post but here goes.

If your incubator is not in a completely steady climate controlled room I'm afraid this is NOT a temp spike.

This is normal.

This is exactly why you have to check the bator often.

That's all I've got right now.
I can't elaborate more at this time.

You can't expect it to stay exact...the temp...with the constant opening and with it not being in a room where the temp stays the same.

You see how your incubator thermometer doesn't match your calibrated one right?

It is possible that when you were jacking with the incubator temp control it got too hot.
