Ok I am sure you all might not like this post but here goes.

If your incubator is not in a completely steady climate controlled room I'm afraid this is NOT a temp spike.

This is normal.

This is exactly why you have to check the bator often.

That's all I've got right now.
I can't elaborate more at this time.

Nah, it’s alright, I like learning and stuff. Actually, I’m glad if it’s not the incubator. But that said, it seems like kind of a big jump? 1-2 degrees constantly? Idk.

And I had just checked it like 3 hours before. Or less, 2 1/2. I’ve been checking it a lot today.

You can't expect it to stay exact...the temp...with the constant opening and with it not being in a room where the temp stays the same.

I don’t mind if it stays exact or not, I know some fluctuation is normal and I don’t freak over that anymore, but it being 2 degrees different on each side seems weird? Also I moved it into a different room the other day and the temperature in that room is a lot more stable.

Ohhh okay. That’s good then. But still. I think I might test it after this batch before I do anything hah
It's very important that the incubator is in a place in your house that stays pretty much the same temp always.

I can't find the words to explain this right now.
I'll find them soon.

And let me remind you that for the last 10 days you haven't had a calibrated thermometer so you don't know exactly how hot the bator has been getting up to.

Normal.

You see how your incubator thermometer doesn't match your calibrated one right?

It is possible that when you were jacking with the incubator temp control it got too hot.

Yeah I know. But if I have the incubator set to 99.5 it gets wayyyyyy too hot. I’ve tried that before.

And I haven’t touched the incubator temperature at all the whole time. I only did the first couple days when I didn’t know better and haven’t touched it at all since.

Normal because one side has a turner motor, right?

Some of those eggs quit in those first few days.
I can tell by looking at them.

That’s why I moved it to a different room. So the temp could be more consistent. I set the thermostat and closed the curtains and left it alone so that it stays more consistent.

And that’s true but even now the calibrated one has been mostly agreeing with the others.
