I swear that as soon as I saw my bed last night I passed out! I think I went to bed at 7:30 last night. We got pizza because neither one of us felt like cooking after we did all that work. The dogs even had pizza... The dogs were ready for bed when I was especially Jolene because She was outside with us in the kennel while we were working on everything. She was playing with the ducks through the fencing.
He used the brooder as a corral to get the chicks... He took the rings off one part so that it was straight and then he had me put it in a c shape... Then we both chased them in. I was climbing through thornbush's and everything. I'm all cut up, but I have all the chicks.
Some of them ran into the large enclosure where the big chickens are which was kind of a dumb move on their part because they can't get out of the deer fencing.
One of the White Chicks I thought was going to get killed by mama chicken (Delaware) who is the mom of that exact chick... I know that some chickens don't take kindly to chicks being in their area especially if they weren't broody. The chick pecked her on the beak and she did nothing. It was so cute. Squatch didn't even try to go after this chick, It's like they know those are their offspring. It was weird!
How are the eggs?
Soon you'll have some of these
K have you set up the brooder yet?
I didn't think that they would know it's their offspring. They didn't even care that it was inside their enclosure. A squirrel gets in there enclosure and they try to kill the thing!Smart thinking!!! And they probably just leave them just in case they’re their offspring

The ducks did get a little upset and started rubbing all over it, but as soon as the chick made a noise they stopped. Then Squatch ran over and got the ducks away from it.
He has been getting quite physical with his brother Sid because Sid is at that hormonal stage and wants to get it on with all of the girls but none of the girls want him...
This is why I need to add more girls into our flock. I'm hoping that Sid's hormones will calm down within a month because I don't even know if I can handle him! He's been picking on my red sex link named Dolly and she's missing feathers!
He was great until he got to the hormonal puberty stage
Squatch keeps him in line for the most part.Awww I hope he calms down!!! If not you might just have to keep Squatch.![]()
