Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Pics
So are you seeing improvement...?

I think so... it seems to be staying in finally. Her egg was a little bloody this morning, and yesterday’s as well, but just a slight smear, which I occasionally see. I’ve got her in the crate in the barn she ate some calcium tablet and starter mixed with yogurt. So :fl!

It looks like Hoppy and the girl with the crop/molting issues will be staying in the hospital tractor with Sammy tonight. I’m hoping all goes well with her overnight as I have the youngling tomorrow. She is a handful on her own, NVM with a sick chicken as well. Yesterday she was insisting that because I have ten chickens I must be getting ten eggs everyday. I try to explain that that’s not how it works but... kids
Here’s the pics of the girl with the crop issues that I think is molting. What do you guys think?

The pic of the prolapsed vent won’t upload for me for some reason. Also, on the way home we couldn’t find a cow and, as I suspected, a calf finally! (I got to go for a little hike) So the timing indicates that the cows injury was certainly bull related, and everyone who kept trying to say “a tree fell on her” can quit it. The last bull had an easy 800-1000 lbs on the poor girl!

Morning Kris :frow

They had unisex loos in Europe over 30 years ago. I got assaulted in one so not a fan.
Sorry that happened... Imagine my surprise my first night in Germany standing at the urinal when a girl came out of the stall behind me and struck up a conversation. :th

Thank you, but :gigit’s (insert horror movie music score here) plumbing! We are on sink replacement day 4 now, and expect to have it working tomorrow. Yesterday we got everything hooked up, the sink and faucet siliconed down... and failed our wet test. I expected that, things always leak! So don’t tell any real plumbers this, but I’m using my “secret plumbing weapon” on this project, silicone! Lots of it... The drain is leaking from a screw together joint, one of these thingies. (Excuse the disaster in the background)

I figure about 1/4 tube of silicone will remedy that just fine! I’m going to lose some storage and have to shorten my kitchen drawers about 4” to accommodate the deeper sink.View attachment 1849727
But for the extra cleaning space... it’s worth it! Here is my “After”. The frying pan is for perspective, Charlie for cuteness. He is getting away with sitting there because it’s currently the only really clear spot in the trailer, and I still hadn’t had my coffee yet! :love

And the “before” sink, which my favorite (16 years old now!) spaghetti pot, two lids, and frying pan were impossible to wash in, as water ended up all over the counter, and my and cuttingboards/baking sheets wouldn’t fit in it at all! The overall size difference isn’t “much” but the useable sink space is so much better!

Oh, and for baking sheets... they don’t make anything small enough for the RV oven... so we finally fixed that with the smallest one we could find (11x15”) and cut off the lip on both sides with the angle grinder and a metal cutting wheel! I can finally bake again (important for our buns for the Saturday Market!) 3 extra buns per batch speeds things up a lot. 24 buns in 1hr vs 25 in 1hr 40mins!

:lau Yeah, I know. I walked in the end that had a woman sign @ the same time a bloke walked in the other end with the man sign~ no dividing wall.:eek:I was young & pretty naive & was really shocked. After I had trouble I usually made John come with me.

All the unisex bathrooms I’ve encountered have been in either office spaces or clubs, usually gay clubs (I have quite a few friends who are gay and/or transgender, and I worked at Whole Foods...) the ones at the clubs are very safe and well monitored, strangely enough, and VERY clearly marked on all doors, they also have traditional bathrooms available as well for anyone not comfortable with the mixed ones.

I am happy to say the sink is up, running, and not leaking. Yes, it took three people, almost a week, and a full tube of silicone... but it isn’t leaking anymore!

The prolapse is still not staying in... I plan on keeping at it... I’ve got her in a darkened crate, the best I could manage, to hopefully prevent laying while we work on it.

Yay!:wee A working sink!:woot

I read somewhere (on BYC I think) about using hemorrhoid cream on a prolapse to bring down the swelling if you think that might help...:idunno

Now I can congratulate you on the sink. Great job!

I wish I had a miracle cure for the prolapse. Sounds like you are doing the right stuff. Good luck. :hugs
