Definitely in the plans. The sanctuary I'm fortifying is 9'w×8'd×9.5'h, with a "pond" 30"×50", so far. I dug it to put an antique clawfoot tub in, because we have no bath. I looove to soak my bones, but then we got a duck! The pit is 18" deep, with a 6"×8"3" area on the side that I intend to expand the length of the pool for mating. Will that area house 4 ducks comfortably? Also, I have a water pump yet to be installed. I bucket the water out once a week. The khaki campbell might grow to be a little bigger than the mallard but that shouldn't be much of a problem for him, A big problem I see though is the amount of hens you should give him, I'd never give drakes just one hen to 'mingle' with, otherwise you're going to have to deal with problems such as Over-mating. I strongly suggest getting at least 3 hens for your drake to keep him busy.
Thank you so much! The first 10 weeks were filled with daily photo shoots, and I'd just taught myself to sew, and did my hair with bold colors. Where did I find the time!? I have found so much help already, in the short time I've been a member, and I look forward to more sharing in the future!G’Day from down under BeeDuckleyWelcome!

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. Down the bottom of the page there are some which are duck specific.
If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out![]()
