Loosing feathers around neck

I have two hens that are losing feathers around their necks, and my rooster lost freathers on the top of his head. I checked them for mights and lice and they have none. There is no blood or wounds just no feathers. They are all under a year old and egg production has just picked up after a very cold few weeks. Any ideas on what is happening.

The information you've provided is pretty sparse, but off the top of my head, I'd guess you have a feather picker.

You don't mention how many chickens you have or how old they are, but if you have just a few in your flock, look for the one individual with the flawless plumage and you will probably have your perp.

The best solution to a single feather molester is pinless peepers. They cut down on forward vision, and it has been the best solution by far for the pickers in my flock, three of which are sporting the plastic devices.
