I’ve added as much water as I can, and it isn’t raising at all. I have tried to not open the bator but the membranes still dried out. I used a Q-tip to moisten the area around the beaks in hopes that they decide to break free. I did see some small veins though so maybe they are still trying.

Yeah, sounds like they are still needing to do some more absorbing yet. Super close but still need some more time. Patience isn't my strong suit either. I would be a basket case. Hang in there. They'll be here before you know it! Once they truly get going, I bet they'll be off to the races.

I have the big brooder ready but I’m going to bring in the smaller one since it’s so cold, even in the garage! I actually have a heat plate to use this time so I am excited.

I’ll start really worrying tomorrow about them if they haven’t done anything more. Let’s hope I can wait that long.

That's what we use, a heat plate. I love it. It works out great and we can adjust the legs to make one side higher than the other for warmth and adjust the height for when they grow, etc. It works lovely. I am off to bed. I'll check back in the morning for word if there was any more progress. Is the live thing going to still be going?

Yes. I may restart the live feed so that way it’s fresh but I’ll make sure to post it here if I do.

@littleprairieheartsfarm Idk about you, but I always spray my eggs at external pips until they are shiny. It really helps with shrink wrapping.

Did you moisten with water or oil/ointment?
I like to use coconut oil, scoop it it solid with flat toothpick then it melts when it touches warm egg.

What can you do about drying membranes? Is that what causes "shrink wrap"? Can you add more water for humidity or need to stop opening the bator? Or add some kind of oil like coconut oil or whatnot? In other words, is there anything you can do about it?
