on 6 out 6 successful hatch! I'm happy for you! I'm still hopeful that the twins will hatch to make it 8/8 but I know twins are more touchy/rare. They made it this far and are still fighting so

The twins are a crossbreed so they’ll still be blue but not Aussies so still 6/6! Then 2/2 it’s made a little more progress! Just one though which is a bit weird

I was just thinking 8/8 in terms of number of chicks, not specific breed but I understand the differentiation. I think it is not uncommon for one twin to be stronger or more viable in the animal world, yes? Maybe one is gone but the other is still alive? I hope not but time will tell. Didn't you say it pipped already? Was that internally or externally?

Not successfully, I've helped one malpositioned egg out fully and it died later.

When I shone the flashlight in it a little bit ago I thought I heard two different chirps. I'm letting nature take it's course for the most part. I know they usually need assistance, but this one has pipped on it's own.

6/6 Blue Australorps have hatched!

I’m so happy.

Now we wait for the double to decide its time to do something! It’s a day later than everyone else so technically today is it’s 21.

All the chicks have been banded for ID purposes. I’m almost 110% certain “Purple” or #1 is a boy. It rushes my hand already!
