Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Well , I just can't wait , I'm starting ahead of you all .

I've got several pullets determined to go broody inspite of the fact they just started laying . There are 4 , hatchery version , WLR Cornish that only lay once and awhile anyway , so I left one on two EE eggs she had claimed and added three more tans , and we'll see how determined she is ; I'm closing that breeding pen 'till spring anyway so she can just have her own nursery .

I may leave another on the 11th , as I have a Wyandotte that fights me every time I take her off the nest she claims and I think her fluffy body will cover quite a few eggs [ if she isn't broke by then ] , and still loading the 'bator at noon that day .

Wahoo.

The Warden sent her's last night.
halo sent her's yesterday
Illia is sending hers now.
Chookschicks will have her eggs at the airport PO in about 24 minutes.
onthspot is sending hers tomorrow.

Still waiting for a phone call from the PO, about my roo and pullet coming from Maryland.

I hope they get here today!!!

I may have to have someone from AZ hatch some of my eggs!

Mahonri, my bator is pretty much empty if you need space. I may have a dozen or two, but that's about it. Depends on how energetic they are on Thursday and Friday. Heck, I could bring you one to use if you want. If they were laying like they were last month I'd have both of them full.

Up to 15 Marans! I think the girls must have internet service in the coop, and read BYC. Otherwise why else would they decide to start laying now?

Okay now I'm really excited!! Two of my splash Araucana girls decided out of the blue that they want to start laying again!! Yes! I now have something really worth putting in the bator for.

So, I'll be adding splash Araucanas to my new year's hatch list, and of course, they will be from my perfectly tufted splash cockerel. Aaaah I can't wait to see what good prospects come out.

- I haven't had a single Araucana egg since about 2 months ago, and I've got over 10 Araucana girls. . . It's called having a SUPER broody breed.
