Thanks, I've never built anything in my life. I had guidance from my DH though. Lots of curse words, smashed fingers and blood went into it.

Uh Oh, your fingers and blood? or his???? i'M the one always accident prone, in our duo. LOL Be careful...Love, hugs and prayers to y'all! Nancy

I feel exactly like that. Spent too much, got too little. Disappointed by all the busted up eggs that arrived. But...what is done is done and I am really hoping this batch gives me what I am looking for. So - here is looking forward to a new year and new life!

I usually candle at day 7, but cant wait this time. Got 9 out of 10 fertile this morning, yeahhh. The other one I am not 100 % sure if it is a dud, the shell is a little too porous anyway. Just want to update.

Ok I have a problem and this thread is to blame.

First I started out just getting back on BYC after a 6 month leave from here to sell my old incubators on the Auction Thread. That was all I had intended on doing. While on there I read some other threads and noticed the Brinsea incubators were on sale. Which led to me going to that site and ordering one!!!

Which led to me searching on how to run the things, which led to this thread, which led to me ordering quail eggs to hatch for New Years, I have never owned quail.

Which led to me reading all of these posts and drooling over all the breads of chickens I don't have.

Which in turn has led to me already planning on ordering more eggs as soon as these hatch.

So no kidding, I now want to get some Marans with dark eggs, to mix with my Ameraucanas to make Olive eggers, and also to get some more Lavender Ameraucanas to go with the ones I already have. And then I want turkeys too.

Don't worry .. it isn't deadly .. but there is no vaccine for it ...

You'll have the disease for the rest of your life ..

Well the thing is, I had the disease before, did a lot of hatching, have lots of chickens, was doing fine, I didn't hatch for over a year, I did not want any more chickens or other breeds..........and then I stepped foot on the BYC website again and BAM !!!! My symptoms all came back!!!

It's like being an alcoholic, one sip and you are back to square one.

Yes it is called incubitis and if you go to your friends coops you might spread it to them as well

Nothing like spreading the joy!

Don't worry, it is not like this forum is full of enablers or anything...

Whispers "you will buy more chickens, you will buy more quail, you will buy more turkeys..."
