I see you hiding there Kim!![]()
My young pullets are in a contest to lay eggs I think, I collected 19 eggs yesterday, in the middle of November. That is craziness! I want to also get some photos of some of my young ones to see what you think. I am very excited about hatching season and depending on the weather, might do the new year's day hatch finally. I don't think I can wait all that long to start the test mating haha
I hear ya on trying to figure out who is laying what. I go down to the pens several times a day when I can and see if I can catch them on the nest, but so far I only know one girl's eggs. I'm trying to decide who to put Luella with first. I have Geronimo, Gigantor, Big Boy, my Alternate Roo, The alternate roo's son- a lighter BCM and a young Blue Copper with really nice coloring. I would like to try her on all 6 boys thru the course of hatching season. I was thinking of collecting about 18 eggs per mating and then hoping for a at least a dozen to hatch and watch them develop and see what they come out like, as far as attributes.Hi!!!!!! Finally the last couple of times I have attempted to log in, it let me! Wooooooowhoooo!
I think I might do the NYD hatch as well as 1 of my 2 young splash copper pullets has started to lay. Nice little egg. but not what I hoped for. She has only given 2 so there is still hope for it getting a bit darker. Now to catch who is laying it, I think it is Roberta. Oxanna I believe is still hanging onto her eggs for a rainy day, LOLOL, by all rights she have laid it yesterday after the drencher day we had around here.
Would love to see your birdies. I must get some photos of the Birchen boys for you.
