yikes....that's quite the snow fall. I sure hope its not as much as all that!

So far we are probably around 8 inches of heavy wet white stuff and it is still snowing pretty good here.

here we have 6 inches so far, but with high winds we have drifts on the road that are several feet high. Not sure I'm getting out anytime soon since they are in no hurry to clear our road

I don't know where everyone is....I was wondering the same thing. What do you have hatching this weekend?

Our girls have been laying for about a week or so and we just separated some out into breeding groups- DD and I will venture out shortly here to finish separating the last 2 pens- not quite the way I was hoping it would happen but with the snow today- DH will be busy for the next 2 days at least and our extra pen is not put back together yet so I will need to let 3 of the girls stay where they are instead of moving them. We started collecting the eggs yesterday to save from the groups with a rooster.

the winds aren't to bad here yet but they are heading this way- DH left out around 3 am this morning to start doing the first clearing and will have to make a second run once the snow stops- not sure how long he will be out. The kids and I are baking christmas goodies today. News keeps telling everyone to stay in and off the roads.

yeah, same here with staying off the roads and the list if businesses, organizations and schools closed is crazy long

We got our first snow of the season 2 days ago.....a whopping 2" but it sure was beautiful! Now we are back to tons of rain....or liquid sunshine as DH calls it. :/

Hmmm.... I thought liquid sunshine came in a bottle that was made for folks over 21.

Morning! I will update tonight. I have not made it out of the house yet.... I am not a farmer....

My calender says I have more going into lockdown, but they are not the right eggs.... I have to see what I have done.

Glad I write the day I set them on all the eggs.

I posted this on the cuckoo thread but I got my first pullet egg from a cuckoo and it was a nice even color of a 5. My hens lay spotted 4's so that is a huge improvement to get a nice darker eggs. It was an even color all over like a Black Copper's eggs and SHINNY too.

I can't wait to see what color egg I get from these new little cuckoos. My splash roo came from a nice colored egg. He was an accidental cuckoo.
