March Hatch-A-Long

Blue Birchen? Im not familiar with that variety, I have FBCM and Wheaton. Im going to have to google that one.

I don't believe it's an APA color, but they're basically like blue coppers with silver instead of copper. They also hatch out blue, black and splash like blue coppers do so I may get some splash chicks or black birchens, which are also really pretty.

Heavy condensation by the electrical parts is an issue but a little creeping up the sides is just fine.

The only "electrical" part in my incubator is the lightbulb lol

Yeah, just some condensation like you'd see on a cold coke bottle on the inside of the big viewing glass on the front on the incubator. I was more thinking that condensation like this at only 66-67% humidity seems like possible incorrect reading.

One does, and the other doesn't. They are cute as heck though.
I can only imagine.
Well, final count is 5/9 chicks and 4/10 ducks hatched for this batch. Round two of ducklings goes into lockdown Wednesday.
My EE chicks ended up being one black, two blue, two lighter blue.
They all look to have featherd legs and beards :love

I have a thing for the feathered feet. The three breeds I'm focused on in my flock are cochins, d'uccles, and sultans which all have feathered feet. Also, two of those have beards and the sultans have crests as well. Extremely feathering chickens are just my thing, I guess.

It sounds normal to me. I have a very small amount at 62% in mine right now.

I adore feathered feet. The breed I'm trying to create will have feathered feet lol.

You're trying to make a new breed? That's exciting! What breeds are you using?

Eh the breeds will be adjusted over time as needed for my end goal.
It definitely will have Breese, Favororelle and likely light Brahma. It's more of a docile but pretty meat bird I'm looking to make. :) It's just in the beginning stages.
