Mealworms, No?

I bought a big bag of freeze dried mealworms for my rooster and 5week old chicks. I decided to research growing my own mealworms, why not? I see all kinds of information about it INCLUDING articles stating that they’re bad for chickens. Is this true?

It's because they have a ton of fat in them so you don't want to give them a lot

I give my chickens mealworms all the time. My smaller birds that require the higher protein get mealworms every other day.

That's great news, thank you! I was beginning to think I may have to sprinkle them on my Grape Nuts to use up the bag.
