MJ's little flock

Friends, what do you think of an L-shaped roost?
I have an L-shaped roost with a poop board underneath. The nest boxes are underneath the poop boards. This works well for us. The girls usually use the long part of the L for nighttime roosting and the short part for daytime resting.
Here is a low quality photo I snapped from my video camera because I thought it was cute that nine curvy girls were crammed together in such a small space that night!

A night section and a day section. That's similar to the habits of the princesses and roadrunners at RC's house.

I don’t have any experience with one so you will have to let me know how it goes. ❤️
I'm toying with the idea. Once the roosting box is finished, I'll see how an L shape might work. I'm thinking of providing a natural branch and a length of timber.

Yes, although for my flock that's only the case during the winter. They rest outside during the summer and really only come in the coop to lay eggs and sleep at night. I am sure that is the case for most flocks.

Summer feels so long ago I am not sure I can remember exactly what they did then.
I know they always eat and drink like crazy after they wake up, and then they congregate to preen and catch up on gossip. I can't remember in the summer if they used the perches in the coop or were outside but I am sure they had the gathering and chatting after breakfast habit because I find it all very charming so I notice that is part of their routine.
