Flock Update:
I checked on my flock when I left for work this morning. All the chicks are down eating and drinking but Hazel was up in the nesting box!
Hazel is 3 months 15 days today. Thats a bit early for laying right?
That's a bit early, but it's good that she's investigating.

Roosting update:
This afternoon I was home early enough to see what has been going on. So Hazel leads but she jumps from the middle of the coop to the top of the ramp to roost. JD and Gin follow jumping from the same spot halfway up the ramp too. Then the others all try to follow but Chippy my Light Sussex Cockerel he just doesn't bother even trying. But all the others start trying and either chickening out jumping halfway up the ramp or just failing. So I left them to keep trying until I noticed them starting to huddle so I got in and put them at the bottom of the ramp like I have been 3 went up before they can see the others calling them and one just sat down. I dont think Chippy my Light Sussex really cares where he sleeps but the others started to stress out a bit.
They all understand that thats where they need to roost but just dont know how to successfully get there. Which makes me feel better that they do understand where they need to sleep. I was stressed for when they do free range. Chippy may still end up anywhere but.
