My hens tongue is through the skin under her beak

She is only about 1 year and 2 months. I thought she was a rooster when she started growing up but then she started laying eggs haha
Lays eggs. I'm not sure where you are seeing the face screaming cockerel?
I'm still interested in seeing full body pictures of this bird, I swear I saw pointed hackers on that picture. Plus that face screams cockerel.

@sophiasflock, heres a really good article on homeopathic alternatives to antibiotics. The very first suggestion is oil of oregano, and it used an example taking about how an all natural farmer with a meat flock used oil of oregano instead of antibiotics. He did this because his meat was labeled no antibiotics ever. I think that may be a good option here. Do you have an herbal store near you?

On the last post on page one, the OP posts photos of the birds face showing the tongue. I swear I an seeing pointed hackle feathers. It own let me quote the post for some reason, guessing my internet.
Rooster hackles look nothing like that. They are really skinny and sharp. First is male hackles, second picture is female hackles.

I'm so proud of you , you got her tongue back in ! :thumbsup
I have heard of packing wound with sugar too . Has anyone else heard of that? . Hydrogen peroxide diluted with water ( like 1 part hydro to 3 h2o )is good on infected tissue also and people gargle with it so small amounts shouldn't hurt her. We used to soak off stuck on bandages at clinic that way. I know my Mom used it for abces on cats too. I would give her scrambled eggs and soften her food to help her eat. I'm just so glad this is going in right direction.:love

I think it's just a trick of the black & white patterning that makes them look pointed. Some hens can be very confusing that way.
You might be right, I know the difference between hen and cockerel feathers, but I could have swore I saw pointed feather. Zoomed in on the bird in OP's signature though and it does look like a hen. 🤷‍♀️ Feather patterns are intreating.
