Hi everyone...

I noticed yesterday my roo was very lethargic... Mystery roo of mysterious age (craigslist give away). When let out to free roam yesterday, he sat to drink water from a running hose... He never does that.

This morning noticed he had trouble walking...

Tonight I brought him in and he won't stand...

Since I brought him in I notice he has mites? on him...

I have also been raising 5 other roos in with him, 2 of those have gone. But 3 remain until I can get them situated elsewhere. There has been no serious fighting- he is clearly the Alpha, at most he has been chasing the others off of "his" hens.

No one else is sick.

What do I do to try to save my roo?

Thank you in advance for all of your help...

Cheers,
DesertSkyNM

Since you think he has mites, that is what is killing him. All your chickens will need to be treated. They all probably need to be wormed. I recommend you dust them all with sevin dust. Redust them again in 10 days. Dust the inside of their house, nests and roosts...redust in 10 days.
Worm them with Valbazen. It is a liquid cattle and sheep wormer. Dosage is 1/2cc for standard size chickens and 1/4cc for smaller chickens. Give it to them orally.
