My scarecrow receives hate mail

I never decorate for Halloween but I am so making a scarecrow next year.

As for the letter writer don't worry about them. I am sure they have got much worse things to sweep off their door step.

I think it's great!! Any normal person would get a laugh out of it. Don't worry about the letter. It's just someone that has no sense of humor.

OH GOOD GRIEF!!

That is old hat - can't shock us. We live in Utah - talk about family values - and scarecrows like that are common. The first one I ever saw was years ago on our way home from church. The pumpkin farmer down the street - that everyone had to drive past on their way to/from church - had one up at his house to greet us all as we drove home. I thought I was going to split a gut laughing. So wonderful that we rushed home for the camera. Dh took some pics, we emailed them to family and in a few weeks started to receive them back from friends who didn't know the photo was originally ours - and had received them from friends, etc. What a hoot! Anyway - GREAT SCARECROW!

Don't you just love that the writer admits that they don't normally go 'out' to the end of the road but they did just so their morals could be compromised! SAVE THE CHILDREN!

My advice? Find another 'double' pumpkin and make another scarecrow or two or three - make an entire family. The next year the farmer made a man and wife. He used a double pumpkin to make the wife's huge breasts, almost bursting out of her housedress.

By the sounds of it you live at the 'end of the road' so why not make it even more exciting by posting a PG-13 sign on the corner of your property! Heaven forbid you corrupt another moral person. How about a sign advertising that you teach pumpkin/scarecrow classes for children?

I'd enlarge the sign and post it next to the pumpkin - write an article for the local paper about how your display recieves fan mail - even if it is hate.

Have a fun Halloween!

I had to chuckle at that scarecrow and so forwarded that to my family/friends. Would I be offended if my elementary age kids saw that? NO, they would get a kick out of it. Vulgar maybe a little, but if that is the worst things my kids ever encounter on the streets I will count it as a blessing. I would be willing to guess that is was the SIL, I would casually mention that (if the letter came unpostmarked)to her and state that the post office is looking into it being in your mailbox as a federal offense and wait for her reaction, then you will know.

OMG! I saw your original post the other day about the Halloween ideas for another poster. I LOVED your scarecrow!

I have not read all of the other posts, but I would put my money on your SIL writing it since you all don't get along. That's what my gut says anyway!

Keep your yard decoration as is. It's cute, harmless and in good fun.
