I was just in the inner harbor in June, I should've stopped by then!
Next time you're in Baltimore ... we're just up 95 a few miles ... Exit 100. You coulda had a boatload of free biddies!
How did you like the Harbor? I haven't been "downtown" in ages. It can be awfully pretty, especially all lit up at night. And the National Aquarium is pretty cool ... if a tad (ACK!) on the expensive side.

The harbor was great! Massive difference in culture from a 600 population Nebraska town, I had a very enjoyable time. Went and did the aquarium(it was like 95$ for me and another person because we got a movie ticket) and did Ripley's Believe it or not, the World Trade Center, and a few more things. I was too chicken(ha!) to try any crab, seafood is not my thing lol. I loved it at night, was a gorgeous sight.
One thing that was so shocking to me was how often sirens went off, like just about every 2 minutes a new ambulance or police car would zoom by. In Nebraska just hearing one is a big shock, it's not very common to hear them. All the people were very nice and I'd like to go back sometime. :)

Glad you enjoyed it. Don't let the sirens scare you off. You hear a lot of ambulance sirens because of the major medical centers right there downtown. The ambos come in from all over town. A lot of the police sirens are from out-of-towners (from other parts of MD!) who don't know how to navigate one-way streets and make illegal turns. An awful lot of police projects get funded through those sirens!

Still, it can be disconcerting when you're used to small-towns. I live in an "Itty-Bitty" one, myself ... which is one of the reasons I haven't been to downtown Baltimore for awhile. We used to go to Orioles games a lot, and would go the the Harbor for dinner, first. I used to love sitting at The Rusty Scupper, across the water from Harborplace, at dusk and watching the Harbor light up for the evening. It was like watching a sleepy kitten wake up for play-time - and it was awfully pretty!

If you make it back this way again, let me know. We'll set you up with some real Maryland crabs! And you should try to include a trip "Down-ee-Oshun, Hon," too. I wouldn't think you see much ocean front in Nebraska - and it's worth the extra side-trip!

I figured the more sirens the safer, I got told by several Lyft and Uber drivers not to go outside after 9pm or, well I can't repeat exactly what I was told  I wasn't too scared, Oklahoma is a common destination of mine and I never feel safe. No police, lots of crime.

I walked by the Rusty Scupper! I didn't eat there, but walked along the water. I loved the view from the World Trade Center, it was so tall when I got off the elevator I nearly passed out. I had to sit down for a while :gigIt was fun telling some of the Maryland natives about Nebraska, one had no idea Nebraska was a state :thI somehow convinced one guy to get into farming, after telling him how hard and like gambling it is lol. Everyone was great, I felt right at home.

That sounds fun! I don't see much ocean at all. I wish it was easier to leave the farm in good hands and I'd always be traveling. If only you could take your chickens places!!
