Mystery Bird from McMurray Hatchery

My barred rock pullet had a white spot on its head. I mean I could’ve gotten the gender mixed up but I don’t think soView attachment 2309276

It’s the size, not the fact it has one.

Both barred rock and cuckoo marans chicks look very much like your chick and have the white spot. The females can have it too. As it is a mystery chick it is likely a male, but could be female too!
Both times I ordered chicks form McMurray, I specified I DID NOT want the extra mystery chick and I got one both times anyway!

Cute chick! Too bad they didn’t give you a meat bird as the extra!

I ordered from MMcM - an all male order of various breeds. I chose to receive a mystery chick, figuring it would be a male. It is, of course, a male. My option was on my final order page ...little box at bottom to click on or off for a mystery chick, so it would be easy to miss.

I agree to just raise that one up and butcher at same time, or add to your existing flock, if possible, to butcher in the spring.
