Kassaundra, maybe I am being a tad insensitive to Blackchops and her boyfriend Gordon (who has a face that scares his momma, but I am careful not to provide a mirror in the coop).
Maybe Blackchops just has a genetic tendency to be 'above average size'
Maybe she just has a crop which has lax muscles such that it could accommodate a small pumpkin
Maybe she just got the 'less-picturesque-face' genes from delicate and beautiful parents
....... She has LOVELY black shiny feathers
I love my 'misfits' and 'different birds' and their singular looks and , as a vegetarian, they will never look more attractive roasted. They are spoilt rotten and extremely friendly, and I'm proud of them in a protective type of way. One of our posties even said that he thought Gordon was an amazing looking bird, and that he had never seen anything like him before (Well, no........)
I will see if I can upload photos later today as my computer was just defragmented and seems to be behaving slightly oddly....but for now the best I can do is show a pic. from about 10 weeks ago before she had her puberty growth spurt (not showing her head).....she is the black bird on the left, between my feather-mutation Brahma and a few Brahma bums.
And even earlier next to her pretty 10 lb Brahma momma
