Naked Neck/Turken Thread

It's just not polite to imply or call a girl monsterous, fat, large etc....

Kassaundra, maybe I am being a tad insensitive to Blackchops and her boyfriend Gordon (who has a face that scares his momma, but I am careful not to provide a mirror in the coop).

Maybe Blackchops just has a genetic tendency to be 'above average size'
hmm.png
Maybe she just has a crop which has lax muscles such that it could accommodate a small pumpkin
hmm.png
Maybe she just got the 'less-picturesque-face' genes from delicate and beautiful parents

....... She has LOVELY black shiny feathers

I love my 'misfits' and 'different birds' and their singular looks and , as a vegetarian, they will never look more attractive roasted. They are spoilt rotten and extremely friendly, and I'm proud of them in a protective type of way. One of our posties even said that he thought Gordon was an amazing looking bird, and that he had never seen anything like him before (Well, no........)

I will see if I can upload photos later today as my computer was just defragmented and seems to be behaving slightly oddly....but for now the best I can do is show a pic. from about 10 weeks ago before she had her puberty growth spurt (not showing her head).....she is the black bird on the left, between my feather-mutation Brahma and a few Brahma bums.

And even earlier next to her pretty 10 lb Brahma momma

cjsgrlsx3....you're right that girl does not appear to have a comb.....partially naked head?

Blackchops reluctantly agreed to a few blurry snaps. and here she is.

With her consort, Gordon

On her own

Her body is larger than Gordon's, although he is a little taller. She is 23 weeks old, so may have more growing to do yet. She is about twice the size of my pure bred LF Naked Necks.

Their babies should be.....interesting.

I can not imagine the size of Blackchops eggs. But her size should not be a surprise when you look at her beautiful and huge mama ! I love your birds PG, such a colorful and healthy flock. Not one of them seems to have any defect except maybe that feather mutation bird and even she is attractive. Kassaundra was only TRYING TO BE CUTE. And I know that you are not offended anyway.

Blackchops has BEAUtiful feet. So perfectedly black. It is funny I like their feet, when I hold mine I give them a foot rub. I like the feel of the glossy tops compared with the soft pad. I noticed this when I trimmed the toe nails.
