That's crazy cool but maybe not the safest place for her with some predators.I have a hen setting about 40 foot up a tree. She somehow decided she liked an abandoned squirrel nest. Has anyone else seen this before? I have a video of her going back on the nest but I'm not sure how to share it. I figured it out. Here is the link.
Have seen videos of this wood ducklings launching themselves out of trees, but they generally land on water around hereThere have been several posts of similar situations. 40' is quite a drop. I'd be tempted to pile lots of loose hay around the base of the tree. I know that wood duck ducklings can drop that far without injury, but I'm not sure about chicks.
That is amazing!I have a hen setting about 40 foot up a tree. She somehow decided she liked an abandoned squirrel nest. Has anyone else seen this before? I have a video of her going back on the nest but I'm not sure how to share it. I figured it out. Here is the link.
